The Environmental Protection Agency is a Statutory Body and plays a central role in protecting, improving and restoring our environment through regulation, scientific knowledge and working with others.   The EPA is managed by a full time Executive Board consisting of a Director General and five other Directors.   Reporting to the Director General, the newly appointed Director will join the Executive Board and will play a key role in achieving the strategic goals of the EPA.  Directors have executive responsibility for one of five Offices in the EPA:    • Office of Environmental Sustainability. • Office of Radiation Protection and Environmental Monitoring. • Office of Evidence and Assessment. • Office of Environmental Enforcement. • Office of Communications and Corporate Services.   While the immediate vacancy has arisen in the Office of Environmental Sustainability, once appointed, the Director may be assigned responsibility for any Office in the EPA. Directors are primarily based in EPA Headquarters, Johnstown Castle Estate, Wexford with flexibility to also work from other EPA locations on a regular basis.
