Head of Enterprise Wexford County Council  County Wexford covers 2,365 sq km. and has a population of 149,722 (CSO population figures 2016). There are four main towns Wexford, Enniscorthy, Gorey and New Ross. The county enjoys a rare mix of mountains, valleys, rivers, flora, fauna and beaches spanning 200km of coastline. The mission of Wexford County Council is to improve the quality of life of the people of Wexford by representing the interests of citizens and providing services to meet their needs.  The Council is involved in the provision of a broad range of services, such as, housing, physical planning and development, community and economic development, libraries fire service and the delivery of infrastructure projects such as roads. There are also internal services of Finance; IT; HR and Corporate. Regulation takes place in areas including planning enforcement, unfinished housing developments and dangerous buildings to ensure that national and local standards are complied with. There are 34 elected representatives. The 2022 Revenue Budget amounts to €134.2m. A vacancy now exists in Wexford County Council for the role of Head of Enterprise. The Head of Enterprise is a senior role within the broad Economic Development function of the Local Authority. S/he will lead a team charged with delivering a high standard quality system of coordinated and cohesive State support to the micro and small business sector. The person appointed will play an important role in supporting enterprise, entrepreneurship and job creation in Wexford and ensuring that the LEO serves as a First Stop Shop to provide services to start, grow and develop micro and small business in the County.  The position requires leadership in working with a range of clients and stakeholders demonstrating knowledge of key policies and ability to maximise funding opportunities at local, regional, national and international level with a high focus on results.   We are committed to a policy of equal opportunity and encourage applications under all nine grounds of the Employment Equality Act.
