The EPA is seeking to fill two separate roles.  The successful candidates will fulfil either the role of an Infrastructure/ Operations Engineer (Level 5) or a Data Engineer (Level 5). Once the vacancies have been filled the EPA may then form a panel to fill future ICT Engineer posts. The appointee will be assigned a technical role reporting to the Programme Manager or other designated officer.  Successful Candidates will work as part of a professional multi-disciplinary team and will learn how to develop and implement EPA policies in relation to the functions of the work area to which they are assigned. Role 1 – Infrastructure/Operations Engineer. The Infrastructure/ Operations Engineer will work in the ICT Operations team and provide day to day technical support to deliver ICT services to EPA’s internal and external customers.  The key responsibilities of this role include carrying out operating system migrations, upgrades, patch management and installations, systems security, backup management, server management, network maintenance and end user support.  Role 2 – Data Engineer. The Data Engineer will work in the ICT Development team.  The key responsibilities of the role relate to the EPA’s data administration and Data management functions.  The successful candidate will work as a part of the ICT Delivery Team on the performance, security, integrity and maintenance of EPA databases, and will also be involved in project data migration, extracting, transforming and loading data. The successful candidate must hold an appropriate degree (NFQ Level 8) in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Information Technology or a related discipline or An appropriate qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, and two years relevant work experience.
