The EPA will form a panel to fill posts in the EPA’s Climate Change Programme in the areas of Climate Services; Emissions Statistics and Climate Science (including international engagement). The duties of a Scientific Officer in the EPA relate to all aspects of gathering, assessing and reporting data on the environment, including research, liaising with and co-ordinating relevant activities with other organisations at local, national and international levels and developing information systems for dissemination of environmental information. The Climate Services Unit works to advance climate change impacts and adaptation actions at the national, sectoral, and local level. It supports climate action primarily through the national climate change information platform Climate Ireland . It works closely with data providers and end users to achieve its goals. Emissions Statistics Team has responsibility for a range of activities, including meeting UN and EU statutory deadlines for submission of Emissions Inventories, Projections and Policies & Measures in line with international guidelines. The successful candidate must hold a relevant degree (NFQ Level 8) in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Planning, Economics, Transport, Agriculture Energy or similar with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
