Hartley People are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner on behalf of our trusted and respected client in the Sunny South East. Working in state of the art facilities, you will enjoy the autonomy that this role offers where planning is the main and sole focus. Dispatch is controlled in a separate office and dealing with drivers is minimal. For an experienced planner, this is a move that will remove much of the ancillary work that is normally associated with this role. Key responsibilities: Plan and assign loads including route & journey time planning. Effective Route Planning of FTL (Full Truck Loads) and seeing through orders to completion. Organizing, planning and monitoring freight movements from our European Partners across the UK and Mainland Europe. Monitor units that could potentially be late and communicate to customer. Liaise with customers, suppliers and others as appropriate. Check transporter locations regularly to ensure they are located as planned. Undertake other duties from time to time as appropriate. Minimum Requirements: At least 3 -5 years’ experience in route planning. An in depth understanding of the Logistics/ Transport Industry. Exceptional organisational skills. Clear and concise communicator. Full understanding of Digital Tachograph regulations. Skills in communication, problem-solving, planning and organising. Very strong PC skills.
