Hartley People have just taken on a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. You will be working in a dynamic state of the art facility, providing technical support and engineering leadership to the Instrumentation manufacturing department. Responsibilities: Technical Support. • Provide on-going technical support to the production department and in particular the cleaning and metrology areas, including the diagnosis and resolution of faults, cost reduction initiatives, the control of change, and the resolution of any issues both in house and in the supply chain. • Analyse existing manufacturing processes internally and in the supply chain to initiate and develop manufacturing methods to improve safety, efficiencies, quality and cost for the organisation. • Monitor Production Metrics and take ownership of the resolution of any issues identified. Project Work. • Provide project plans with regular updates of progress vs schedule for all major projects. • Ensure that all projects, maintenance and services work carried out by and for the company, conforms to the agreed costs, specification, drawings and to any local or national regulations governing these activities. Supplier Support. • Participation in audits of critical/key suppliers in Ireland in order to assess their competence and their compliance with all applicable regulatory/industry standards. • Provide technical support to the support to the supply chain as required. New Product Introduction. • Provide technical leadership for product transfers from NPI into Production, including the approval of new component parts and suppliers, the production of assembly procedures, the purchasing, installation and validation of new equipment and the training of production personnel. • To provide ‘DFM’ input to NPI designs by liaising closely with the R&D Design and NPI groups. Compliance. • Ensure compliance with ISO9001:2000, ISO13485:2003, GMP and regulatory standards 21CFR Part 820 in all activities. • Prepare full suite of Validation documents for major projects, e.g. Validation Plan, URS, 21 CFR Part 11 Assessment, IQ/OQ/PQ, Task reports & Final Validation Report. Qualifications: • B.Eng /B.Tech (Mechanical, Production) or equivalent academic qualifications. • Previous industrial work experience in a regulated manufacturing environment – Aerospace, Semiconductor, Medical Device etc. with a focus on lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. • Strong mechanical skills, with practical experience in the use of 3D CAD, metrology equipment (CMM), cleaning and passivation systems and additive manufacturing. • Understanding of ISO 9000, ISO 13485 Quality systems. • Excellent planning, organisational, presentation and communication skills, both written and oral. • Ability to work on own initiative and as parts of a multi-disciplinary team as required.
