Description

The Reception Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the reception department`s operational function and making contribution to the profitability of the Hotel by ensuring effective cost controls within the reception operation and by promoting Hotel services to guests. The Reception Manager will also maintain consistent standards of service, ensuring guest satisfaction while creating a work environment that supports organisational values. Key responsibilities: Manage the reception operation, ensuring delivery of exceptional guest service at all times; Ensure all customers enquiries and requests for bookings are dealt with promptly, courteously and efficiently; To work closely in conjunction with budgeted targets and parameters; To oversee daily cash lodgements and revenue figures; Ensure adequate resource planning and effective recruitment of the reception team; To ensure that existing SOP`s are well communicated and delivered consistently. Amend and implement new SOP`s as necessary; Ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints; Maximise sales through up-selling, using incentives and promotions; Responsibility for training the reception team to ensure that all team members are competent to carry out their role; Ensure that a positive working environment that supports organisational core values prevails in the reception department; Ensure awareness and compliance with all Health & Safety work practice; The successful candidate must have: 3 years’ experience as a Reception Manager in a 4* property; Excellent interpersonal skills. Exceptional communication & organisational skills are of particular importance; Be able to demonstrate business/ industry awareness; Be customer focused; Have the ability to lead, multi-task, and make sound decisions in fast-paced environment; Be adaptable and capable of working under pressure; Have a passion for hospitality and customer service. Excellent grooming and presentation. Excellentcomputer skills. Be self-motivated with an excellent knowledge of hotel reception. Excellent people management skills; Previous experience using Hotsoft or a similar PMS.
