Manager - Practice Accountant
Our Client a Chartered Accountancy Practice based in Wexford providing services to SME’s in Wexford, Dublin, Kilkenny and the midlands. They help their clients to be profitable, tax efficient, to secure the finance they require to grow and also to comply with all company law and other statutory obligations. With over two hundred clients, our client prefers to service a small number of larger clients rather than provide a basic accounting and tax services to a large number of smaller clients. Position. We are looking for a Manager to replace a current incumbent who had been seconded to a Client and who has now been recruited by the client as their Finance Manager. Overview of the Role: Taking ownership of a portfolio of audit and accounts clients with responsibility for managing the process from start to finish, to include: 1. Job scheduling, budgeting and audit planning; monitoring firm KPIs. 2. Delegating to and reviewing work of junior staff. 3. Preparing accounts and audit file to partner review level; attendance at closing meetings. 4. Delivering a high standard of service to clients throughout. 5. Assisting with ad-hoc projects such as company restructurings. 6. Ensuring compliance with all legal, technical and ethical requirements. 7. Mentoring junior staff and contributing to on-going training Active involvement in the cash management process including initiating the issuing of fee invoices and collecting receivables. Preferred Candidate ACA/ACCA qualified with experience gained in a small or medium firm. Confident and articulate – comfortable both dealing with clients and managing junior staff. Good technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards, company law as well as proficiency in Income Tax and Corporation Tax. Strong accounting software package exposure.
