  our client, one of the world’s largest medical device outsource manufacturers is seeking an engineering group leader to join their team.   the engineering group leader is responsible for ensuring that all engineering activities within their area of assigned responsibility are done to the standards required by our client.   responsibilities include:   responsible for the overall implementation, installation and commissioning of new site equipment.   responsible for the management of the transfer and standardisation of the process and projects across the site and customer sites.   responsible for selecting and guiding cross functional teams to achieve productivity and efficiency improvements – including a significant automation project.   preparing and controlling of all department costs in line agreed annual budgets.   overall control and application of engineering and process methods leading to world class manufacturing philosophies, and preparation and implementation of standard line times.   ensure direct reports receive adequate training and are encouraged towards personal & professional development.   encouraging direct reports achieve world class standards by leading by example.   achieve the highest levels of product and process quality within the business, meeting or exceeding both internal and external customer expectations.  assume that engineering has the ultimate responsibility for product quality.   operate all elements required by the quality management system including timely and proactive responses for preventative and corrective actions, validations, fmea’s and quality audits.   take a proactive response to all customer complaints, whether internally generated or externally generated, by conducting root cause for issues and take corrective action at the source.   create and and maintain a process of ci that is focused on the quality of the products and process within the business.   ensure open communication and co-operation with manufacturing and quality assurance for the rapid recommendation and implementation of design changes necessary to correct problems or improve the products and processes.   assist management in all tasks as requested, including preparation of department presentations.   work with all employees to develop a world class lean manufacturing system.          skills and knowledge: experience of high volume labour intensive manufacturing environment.   knowledge of healthcare business an advantage.   ability to supervise motivate and lead a technical team.   ability to coordinate, plan and organise substantial engineering projects.     minimum education and experience requirements: b.e degree or equivalent.   chartered engineer.   high volume labour intensive manufacturing experience.   substantial experience in automation.   design office experience.   physical demands: work effectively with close tolerance.     hartley people recruitment work to the highest ethical standards within our industry and we value the trust that you place in us when you send your cv. we can provide a full consultation in confidence and we guarantee that your cv will not be sent to any of our clients without your prior consent. for immediate consideration please call becci on 051-878813 or email your cv in response to this job posting.      .
