Title: Assistant Manager. Relevant Experience: 2 years department manager in retail or equivalent or proven Assistant Manager experience in another retail store. Responsible to: Store Manager. Responsible for: All employees as directed by Store Manager. Main purpose of the Job: To ensure the store operates efficiently and effectively at all times and to perform and conclude any other duties as directed to you by the Store Manager. Main Duties: To actively live and model the Company`s values while actively engaging other staff members to do the same. To ensure merchandising and presentation of the store is of the highest standard at all times. To actively participate in the development or updating of the store’s performance management programme including setting of performance goals and tracking and evaluating performance. To ensure level of hygiene is of the highest standard throughout the store and to ensure compliance by all staff members to the same. To ensure a positive, efficient and effective working environment exists within the store. To communicate the required operating standards to all staff members and ensure they understand and implement such standards at all times. To ensure the highest standard of customer service is provided to all customers. This includes having a detailed knowledge of the Company Customer Service Pack and actively seeking customer feedback. To ensure stock-taking procedures are adhered to and weekly targets are achieved. To conduct regular staff meetings, to open discussions effectively and to close discussions with clear summaries. To liaise with the management team to ensure that weekly gross profit, net profit and sales targets are achieved throughout all departments. To monitor department overheads to ensure budgets are adhered to, including wages & salaries. This also includes ensuring rosters are properly managed in conjunction with the store manager. To monitor ‘Own Brand’ and MSR development in-store and ensure that information generated is used effectively to ensure the effective operation of the store. To assume store manager responsibilities in their absence. Have in-depth knowledge of all Health & Safety regulations and how they relate to the store. To conduct any other duties as directed by Store Manager. To seek opportunities to develop yourself in relation to technical training and professional development. To discharge any other such duties as may be required of you from time to time.
