Our client is a busy Injection Moulding, Toolmaking and precision engineering business undergoing rapid growth and servicing sectors such as Aerospace, Medical, Telecoms and Engineering. They are now looking for a Qualified Toolmaker to join their team. This is the ideal role for a toolmaking professional with a strong set of technical skills to take on their next challenge with an innovative, growing and exciting company. As a Qualified Toolmaker, you’ll be tasked with the service and repair of tooling and undertaking the full development lifecycle for new project tools, following the process right through from commissioning to production. Your role will also involve: - Manufacturing new tooling and ancillary spare parts. - Completing strip downs, cleaning, lubricating and rebuilding processes. - Attending press breakdowns, identifying causes and resolving the problem. - Owning various tool suites and maintaining their performance. - Improving and developing new project tooling. - Ensuring the parts produced are of a suitably high standard. So, is this the job for you? If so, you will need: - At least five years’ experience in a similar or equivalent toolmaking position. - The ability to confidently work to engineering drawings. - Excellent knowledge of machining to exact tolerances using various methods. - Experience of dealing with machine breakdowns, identifying causes, problem-solving on the spot to minimise downtime, and completing repairs in a workshop setting. You will also need some experience of the following: - CNC spark and wire eroders. - Jigs and fixtures. - Bench fittings. - Turning. - Milling. - Drilling and welding. Innovative and adaptable, as a Qualified Toolmaker, you will need to be flexible, able to problem solve effectively and have a team player mentality.
