This leading FDA regulated manufacturer currently has an opening for a Facilities Engineer.. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into a management capacity... ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Security. Support and continually improve the company’s security policies. Manage relationships with security and safety bodies including the police, fire brigade and emergency services. Ensure compliance with the Department of Transport “Air, Cargo, Security Programme” Provide support to ensure all staff are aware of their security related responsibilities. Audit security procedures as requested to ensure compliance of all concerned. Support the implementation, operation and monitoring of an effective key, and access control system. Ensure the alarm monitoring contractors are in possession of an up to date contact list and procedure at all times. Facilities Maintenance. Develop, implement and supervise facilities related maintenance functions and services. These may include such items as the Fire Alarm Systems, Security Systems, Air conditioning systems, Compressed Air Systems, Gas Systems, Chemical control systems, Waste Disposal Systems, Telephone Systems, Grounds Maintenance Systems, Factory Cleaning and Garden Maintenance. Implement and maintain an efficient facilities preventative maintenance programme. Including daily check sheets and breakdown occurrence charts. Control all facilities related drawings and documents in an appropriate manner. Ensure the building and plant equipment is maintained to a standard appropriate to a medical device company. Monitor and ensure adequate supplies of raw materials are readily available at all times. These will include such items as gas, oil, argon gas etc. Ensure all facilities equipment and plant rooms are maintained in a clean and safe condition. Label all plant and equipment so to allow clear identification. Environmental Management System. Support and supervise as required, the company ongoing environmental and waste management system on an ongoing basis. Support in applying for and implementing the required IPC Licence. Measure, monitor and control as directed all plant related environmental effluent, discharges, and waste waters, within required EPA, Safety and Government limits. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Be technically proficient in all areas of building maintenance including but not limited to, HVAC, LPHW and MTHW, CHW Systems ,Compressed air, Fire Safety, Building Legislation & codes, Waste water systems and DI water systems, Environmental and Health and Safety legislation Process Gases and Project management. Familiar with BMS systems and Energy Management Systems. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A degree in a Technical Discipline is essential preferably Mechanical Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge base in operations and maintenance of Facilities Plant and Equipment combines.
